Irakli Kadagishvili, the Chair of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Monday said the domestic radical opposition was consistently moving toward self-destruction.
In his remarks, Kadagishvili noted that the radical opposition had previously refused to acknowledge the will of their voters by not entering the Parliament following the elections last October.
He suggested that they believed this action would escalate into a revolutionary movement.
“The radical opposition is consistently moving toward self-destruction, and this path is their choice, as well as the choice of their supporters. They rejected their voters’ mandate, thinking they could spark a revolution and overthrow the Government. That did not work. Naturally, they now find it difficult to say that they should return to the constitutional and democratic process”, he noted.
