In an interview with the Georgian Public Broadcaster, the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze extended his gratitude to the governments of Hungary and Slovakia for their decision to block the sanctions package proposed on behalf of the European Union.
Kobakhidze further emphasised that despite numerous challenges, Georgia continued to defend its national interests and achieve economic development.
“I would like to thank the governments of Hungary and Slovakia, our friendly nations, for their decision to block the sanctions package that was to be imposed on behalf of the European Union. There are numerous challenges, but despite such challenges and the many difficulties created by the previous US administration, as well as certain European officials who belong to the deep state and Global War Party, our country manages to defend its positions and national interests while ensuring economic growth”, the PM said.
He alleged that attempts to instigate revolutions in Georgia had been made on four separate occasions in recent years.
The Prime Minister also addressed criticisms regarding his stance on balancing relations with Russia and Western powers, stating that his priority was to protect Georgia's sovereignty from external influences, whether friendly or hostile.
Kobakhidze also referenced recent statements from the new US administration, which he claimed confirm that US taxpayer funds were used to finance revolutions and hostile activities in other countries, including Georgia.
