Irakli Kirtskhalia, the Deputy Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body, on Wednesday expressed optimism about the future of Georgia-US relations, citing strong alignment between the policies of the Trump administration and the ruling Georgian Dream party.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Kirtskhalia also assessed the Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili’s ongoing visit to India, highlighting Georgia’s strategic geopolitical position and the significance of strengthening international partnerships.
“India is undoubtedly set to become one of the world's leading nations. Maka Botchorishvili had very significant meetings in India, reaffirming Georgia's key geopolitical position as a gateway between East and West. This is our strategic reality, and in the context of major geopolitical shifts in global politics, Georgia holds a crucial regional role. Our approach will always prioritise our national interests, ensuring that we operate under a peace-focused strategy”, the ruling party official said.
He also addressed Georgia-US relations, expressing confidence in stronger bilateral ties.
“The policies of the Trump administration and the Georgian Dream party are in complete alignment. Therefore, there are objective expectations, and everything points to the fact that Georgian-American relations should reach their highest point in Georgia's recent history”, Kirtskhalia concluded.
