Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday said that despite security challenges, the country had managed to maintain its economic attractiveness and implement reforms that enabled Georgia to play a significant role in the region, particularly in the development of the Middle Corridor.
In her remarks on the sidelines of the high-level international conference in New Delhi, Botchorishvili noted that the Raisina Dialogue provided a valuable opportunity for Georgia to showcase its potential to the international community and regional partners.
“Our key message is that Georgia has the capacity to play a crucial role in the region, particularly in the development of the Middle Corridor, which is of great importance for countries both to the east and west”, the Minister said.
“This forum offers an excellent opportunity for our partners to recognise Georgia’s potential and consider it as a key transit hub for connectivity and new trade routes”, Botchorishvili continued.
She highlighted the Raisina Dialogue as an important platform for communicating Georgia’s positions to its partners.
“Such forums provide a good opportunity for communication and exchange of views with our partners. It is also a chance to voice Georgia’s stance on the unjust criticism that our country has faced for years and continues to hear from some European colleagues. This is an opportunity to engage with my counterparts, encourage them to look at reality objectively, and not rely on perceptions that are often used as arguments”, the FM concluded.
