Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday said the term gender would be removed from all norms and laws.
In his remarks, Mdinaradze noted that the mandatory participation of the NGO sector in decision-making processes would be eliminated.
“The word gender will be removed from all norms and laws. Also, the participation of the non-governmental sector in decision-making will no longer be mandatory. This does not exclude their participation, although the obligation to do so will disappear from the Georgian legislation”, the ruling party official said.
“And no agency and no one will be obliged, authorized to either follow the whims of representatives of the non-governmental sector or ensure their participation in the decision-making process, because every agency, every service has its own scope of legitimacy and we cannot limit these scopes”, he concluded.
