Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament, on Friday said the professionalism of Georgia's relevant agencies in addressing various security threats, including terrorism, was beyond question and deserved appreciation.
Volski’s comments came after the Institute for Economics and Peace, a global think tank headquartered in Sydney, published the Global Terrorism Index 2025, marking a new historic high for Georgia. According to the 2025 Global Terrorism Index, Georgia has improved its ranking by six positions and has achieved a zero terrorism level.
“There is no doubt about the high level of professionalism demonstrated by Georgia's security agencies in countering external threats, including terrorism. We are aware of examples showing intensity, professionalism, and high-level collaboration between our relevant agencies and foreign counterparts and partner countries. This deserves appreciation”, the Parliament official said.
Volksi further emphasised that Georgia was maintaining all indicators of a stable country, which was reflected in international assessments.
“The country experiences a high influx of tourists and boasts one of the safest environments, even compared to European Union countries. In Tbilisi and other cities, people can walk the streets safely at any time of day or night. This is the direct result of the tireless and professional work of our law enforcement agencies, police, and security services, which should be fully acknowledged and valued”, he concluded.
