Levan Makhashvili, the Chair of the Committee on European Integration of the Georgian Parliament, on Monday said that since the new US President declared war on the deep state, these forces were attempting to regroup and launch a new offensive with their existing resources.
In his remarks, Makhashvili expressed hope that Donald Trump would be able to defeat the deep state, which he said would have a “positive impact” on the relationship between Georgia and the United States.
“Many see this rearrangement, including on the European continent. Therefore, for us, as Georgia, the main measure will undoubtedly be whether Trump can defeat this so-called deep state. We hope he can succeed because it will have a clearly positive influence on Georgia-US relations”, the Parliament official said.
“While the war in Ukraine may end today, it seems some want new Ukraines elsewhere, in different contexts and geopolitical areas, where Russia can shift its attention. These countries believe this will save them”, he concluded.
