Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday criticised certain foreign actors for attempting to impose their own views on Georgia, arguing that the reality seen by the Georgian people was different from what some abroad wished to promote.
In his remarks, Papuashvili noted that even though this was a completely externally encouraged wave of violence and radicalism seen in the country, it was not working out.
Commenting on elections, Papuashvili referenced a recent poll conducted by Le Figaro, stating that 61 percent of French citizens demand the resignation of President Emmanuel Macron, while 50 percent support holding new parliamentary elections.
“I call on all governments to focus on their own voters and their own countries, where they have very low public support. They should not be concerned with interfering in the internal affairs of other nations”, the Parliament Speaker said.
