Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday claimed the domestic opposition was openly cooperating with foreign bodies to undermine the country’s national interests.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze described these actions as nothing short of “betrayal”.
“This is a continuation of Sergo Orjonikidze’s legacy [in reference to the Georgian Bolshevik, who is the epitome of betrayal in the Georgian public]. Such actions likely fall under the norms of the Criminal Code, although this is for the relevant authorities to determine, not for me. However, it is crystal clear what these individuals are doing”, the PM said.
“They are openly cooperating with foreign bodies to harm the interests of their own state. This is nothing short of betrayal, however, this is my political assessment. Legal assessments should be made by the relevant authorities”, he concluded.
