Ruling party Sec Gen says no alternative to peace

Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said there was really no alternative to peace.

In his remarks, Kaladze wished the United States President Donald Trump success in defeating the deep state, which he claimed was quite rooted in Georgia as well as globally.

“Peace has no alternative. We have rootless people inside the country who were directly eager to open a second front in the country [amid the ongoing war in Ukraine], to drag Georgia into the war. Can you imagine what we would have got if the Georgian Government had made a mistake? We are dealing with such impudent people, although the United States President has promised that he will fight to defeat the deep state”, the ruling party official said.

“Defeating the deep state is not an easy task, because it is quite rooted, both in Georgia and in any other country in the world. I would like to wish President Trump success in this challenge. Naturally, we are concerned about our country and what kind of relationship Georgia will have with the United States. If the approach changes from what the previous administration had - which was mainly based on lies and deception - and we see that the deep state is defeated, we will only welcome it”, he concluded.
