Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday expressed hope that the new United States administration under President Donald Trump would succeed in defeating the deep state, emphasising that “this was Trump’s main campaign promise”.
Mdinaradze noted that such a development would significantly ease Georgia’s challenges and help navigate the nation through difficult times.
He further discussed global political trends, asserting that recent global developments validated the positions the Georgian Dream party had held for years.
The ruling party official further added that many of those who had supported the opposition were patriotic and “should now reflect on past events and reassess them”.
“At this point, we must all face the truth together. The political landscape of the world has changed, but unfortunately, many deep state agents remain entrenched in European Union bureaucracy”, he said.
“However, we hope that the new US administration, under President Trump, will succeed in dismantling the deep state. If that happens, it will greatly facilitate our country’s survival and make it easier to pursue our national interests, unlike in previous years when various obstacles stood in the way”, Mdinaradze concluded.
