Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday said the sanctions imposed on Georgian officials by the Baltic states meant nothing.
Mindaradze’s comment followed a recent move by Estonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna, who on Monday signed an order banning an additional 55 Georgian nationals from entering the country.
In his remarks, Mdinaradze noted that although “more severe and tougher blows” might come in the future, these sanctions were of no importance because “the entire world has seen the truth”.
“These sanctions mean nothing to us at all. There will be pressure from the European bureaucrats, where the deep state is left, we may receive tougher and heavier blows, but this does not mean anything, because the entire world has seen the truth - Europeans, Americans, Georgians, among them, we all saw where the truth is”, the ruling party official said.
“Until the truth came out, these sanctions were not dangerous, because Georgia and its Government stood at its height, improving the quality of independence, despite all this and today, especially, there is no problem with this [sanctions]”, he concluded.
