Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament, on Monday responded the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili’s social media message regarding Georgia's peace and security by saying that the only correct position for Georgia was the one that the Government had ensured over the past three years.
“In the current situation, the only correct position for Georgia was the one that the Government had ensured over the past three years. Maintaining stability required considerable effort, as significant resources were mobilised against it”, the Parliament official said.
Papuashvili on Monday said “every time foreigners lecture us, the NGOs create another petition and the opposition demands that we vote for them in the elections - we must remember that three years ago they sacrificed us”.
The Speaker noted that the country was saved from war by the wisdom of the Georgian public and the strength of the Government.
