Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said over the past three years, the Georgian Government had endorsed more than 600 international documents, including various resolutions that condemned Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and supported Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze stressed that this position remained “steadfast”.
When asked why Georgia supported the resolution introduced by the United States at the United Nations, the Prime Minister clarified that Georgia backed the specific US-drafted resolution, which was prepared without any interference from the deep state.
“We have joined the resolution prepared by the United States, which also expresses support for Ukraine. Our endorsement was specifically for the American resolution, which was drafted without any interference from the deep state. We support the US administration’s peace plan and hope it will soon yield success. It is crucial for us to align with resolutions that are aimed at peace rather than prolonging the war”, the PM said.
The Prime Minister reiterated Georgia’s firm stance against Russian military aggression in Ukraine and reaffirmed the country's unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
