Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Sunday reiterated his strong support for the new United States administration in its efforts to defeat the deep state, which he believed was responsible for the unacceptable state of Georgia-United States relations.
In his remarks, Papuashvili highlighted his position about the potential timeline and method for rebooting Georgia-United States relations.
“We have been talking for a long time about what the deep state means, which today is openly discussed not only by the United States Government but also by the former Prime Minister of the UK, who addressed the political and business network in Britain that secretly controls countries and processes”, the Speaker said.
The Parliament Speaker further expressed optimism regarding recent developments, noting that significant steps had been taken to close financial channels used to fund regime changes and revolutions in Georgia, including USAID and other lines of influence.
“We fully support the new United States administration in defeating the deep state because it is exactly this network that is responsible for the state of relations between Georgia and the United States, which is unacceptable to us. Therefore, defeating the deep state should directly reflect on Georgia-US relations.[...] We are very optimistic about what is happening. We have seen the financial channels used to fund regime changes and revolutions in Georgia, including USAID and other lines, which are now being closed. This is essential, but not enough to consider the defeat of the deep state in Georgia's case”, Papuashvili noted.
He also pointed to the success of the United States administration in exposing destabilising schemes in other countries, revealing how media outlets, media NGOs, and thousands of journalists were part of a network spreading false narratives.
