Levan Machavariani, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Deputy Chair of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party, on Saturday claimed that the domestic radical opposition was under the control of the deep state, following its directives, particularly in shaping political narratives against figures like the United States President Donald Trump.
In his remarks, Machavariani noted that the radical opposition in Georgia aligned its rhetoric with the deep state interests, targeting Trump.
“The radical opposition is controlled by the deep state. They implement its policies, carry out its orders, and so on. Therefore, when Mr. Trump is considered an enemy by the deep state, he automatically becomes an enemy of the radical opposition as well. They received orders from the deep state to spread this narrative in Georgia and to attack the United States President with harsh words”, the ruling party official said.
He further suggested that this dynamic might extend to EU politics, predicting that the European Union would eventually confront the deep state, leaving the radical opposition in Georgia without external support.
“At some point, this will extend to the European Union as well. The EU will also start fighting against the deep state, and ultimately, the radical opposition will be left without its external protectors and patrons”, Machavariani concluded.
