Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday said radicalism had no place in the country or anywhere in the world, expressing confidence that such movements would soon come to an end.
Responding to a journalist’s question about the discussion held in the city of Gori by the ambassadors of France and Germany, which took place on the backdrop of radical banners, Kaladze described the event as a serious issue and asserted that radicalism was always doomed to fail.
“This is a very serious matter. These individuals were actively involved in the election campaign. They encourage evil in the country and contribute to societal division. However, believe me, everything will be restructured. The world is changing. Radicalism has no place in Georgia or in the world today. This will soon come to an end. Radicalism will be defeated. In general, radicalism is always doomed to fail”, Kaladze said.
He also criticised the German Ambassador, referring to his previous remarks and questioning his role as a diplomat.
