Levan Makhashvili, the Chair of the Committee on European Integration of the Georgian Parliament, on Friday strongly criticised the latest resolution adopted by the European Parliament, calling it misleading and full of falsehoods.
In his remarks, Makhashvili stressed that by passing such resolutions, the European Parliament was discrediting itself.
“The European Parliament’s latest resolution is nothing but an empty piece of paper, filled with empty words. It holds no legal weight, even within the EU itself, as it is not legally binding. Naturally, it has no value for us either, especially when it implies that the choice of the Georgian people is meaningless. We do not take this document seriously”, the Parliament official said.
He highlighted that the resolution was filled with disinformation and falsehoods.
“There is an unfair attack against the Georgian government and Georgia as a whole. Even EU institutions have previously exposed falsehoods in the European Parliament’s resolutions. By adopting such misleading documents, the European Parliament is undermining its own credibility. This resolution holds no value for us”, he concluded.
