The Political Council of the ruling Georgian Dream party on Thursday released a statement over a “resolution adopted by the European Parliament against Georgia and the Government elected by the Georgian people”.
In a statement, the Council recalled the statement made by the future President of the United States Donald Trump at a campaign rally on March 26, 2023, when he declared: “This is the final battle. Either the deep state destroys America, or we destroy the deep state”.
The Georgian Dream party further noted that following his election, Trump had actively engaged in this “crucial” battle, adding “we wish him success in dismantling the deep state”.
“In response to today’s resolution, we declare that either the deep state will dismantle the European Union, or the EU will find the strength to somehow escape the influence of the deep state”, the Political Council said.
“Just as we wish President Trump victory in his fight against the deep state, we also wish Europe to free itself from the harmful influence of the deep state. In this struggle, we will stand with patriotic Europeans”, the statement continued.
The ruling party also mentioned Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s recent remarks, in which he stated that “it is impossible to take European institutions seriously”, and added that the same applied to the European Parliament, which, they claimed, had lost credibility.
“In our opinion, unfortunately, it is absolutely impossible to take the European Parliament seriously today”, the Political Council concluded.
