Levan Davitashvili, the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, on Thursday highlighted the importance of the Georgian delegation’s visit to the United Arab Emirates and participation in the World Governments Summit in strengthening trade and economic ties.
In his remarks, Davitashvili noted that in parallel with the Summit numerous bilateral meetings were held with the United Arab Emirates Government leaders, discussing current as well as planned and promising projects.
“This visit to the United Arab Emirates was very important for strengthening our trade and economic relations with this country, as we discussed the current projects that we have with this country, as well as planned and promising projects that we will jointly develop. All this is significantly related to attracting additional foreign direct investment to the country in various sectors, such as real estate, energy, transport logistics and infrastructure”, Davitashvili said.
He further noted that over 30 heads of state participated in the Summit, and the Georgian delegation was given the opportunity to meet with delegations from various Gulf countries and discuss various areas of cooperation, including economic and trade relations.
“One of the important tourist markets for us is the Gulf, and, therefore very useful meetings were held to deepen tourist ties, which I believe will bear fruit and the tourist flow from the Gulf countries to Georgia will increase in 2025”, he concluded.
