Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday reaffirmed his Government's commitment to national interests and pro-Georgian policies in an interview with the Swiss weekly magazine Die Weltwoche.
Kobakhidze highlighted that his Government was adhering to a policy of strategic patience.
“We have a policy that we call strategic patience, and of course, this situation is not easy. Twenty percent of our territories are occupied. The Russian Federation is waging a war in Ukraine. The situation is extremely difficult for Georgia. That is why we are implementing a policy of strategic patience and pragmatism. There are people who do not like this approach. This is why they tell certain audiences that the Georgian Government is pro-Russian. However, we are pro-Georgian. We are doing everything to safeguard Georgia's national interests, and the policy we implement is a pro-Georgian policy”, the Prime Minister said.
“Our opponents within the country and their lobbyists abroad have other interests. Their aim is to create new conflicts around us, which does not align with Georgia's national interests”, he concluded.
