Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday expressed optimism regarding the steps taken by the new US administration.
In his remarks, Papuashvili voiced his hope that the ongoing fight against the deep state in the United States would have positive implications for Georgia as well.
“We hope that this will not just be words that we hear, but also actions, and that the fight against the deep state will also have an impact on Georgia. We have repeatedly said that we are ready to restore the strategic partnership that the previous administration unilaterally suspended, with the intention of bringing instability to Georgia, as they claimed, and we are ready for a strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States. We hope there will be an appropriate response”, the Parliament Speaker said.
The remarks underscore Georgia’s intent to reinforce its alliance with the US amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.
The Government in Tbilisi has reiterated its commitment to deepening cooperation with its Western allies while navigating complex regional challenges.
