Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Saturday said the Georgian Government was “closely” monitoring all statements and actions coming from the United States new administration.
In her interview with Imedi TV, Botchorishvili emphasised how closely these statements align with what the Georgian Government had been advocating and fighting for over the years.
“We are closely monitoring every statement and every step taken by the United States today. It is astonishing to see how much this corresponds with what we have been discussing and striving for”, the top Georgian diplomat said.
“Georgia has single-handedly declared a fight against injustice. Our country has been a prime example of the global injustices we have witnessed in recent times”, she continued.
The Minister further noted that the newly elected US President and his administration were now initiating a similar struggle.
“We see that now the new US president and the new administration are starting this fight. This is an important aspect, it highlights common interests and creates a basis for improving and further strengthening relations”, she continued.
Botchorishvili further stressed that “Georgia remains a reliable partner for the United States”.
“This is not new for America; it is a reality that has been tested over decades. This is a crucial aspect that will strengthen our future relations with the US”, she concluded.
