Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Saturday emphasised the importance of relations with the United States, calling them “very valuable and significant”.
In her interview with Imedi TV, Botchorishvili expressed concern about the deterioration of these relations in recent years, stating that they have become so strained that it has led to meaningless statements, and the strategic partnership with the US has lost its substance.
The Minister affirmed that Georgia had done everything possible to be a worthy partner to the US.
“We have never hidden our desire for a meaningful relationship with the United States. Georgia has done everything necessary to be a worthy partner, and based on this worthy partnership, we want the strategic relationship we have with the US to be meaningful. Our goal is to discuss mutual interests that will serve the better future of Georgia. We understand that the US has its own interests, and we must find common ground to protect both countries’ interests. This strategic partnership should be based on these principles”, she concluded.
