Geography illustrates that Georgia serves as the gateway for seven landlocked nations to the Black Sea and the broader Western sphere - it is a simple truth that the European Union’s bureaucracy has struggled to grasp, said on Thursday Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
In an interview with Imedi TV, Kobakhidze noted that his government’s active policies were aimed at further strengthening the country’s role in regional connectivity.
“In general, the importance of the Middle Corridor has grown independently of us. Since 2020, cargo volumes through the Middle Corridor have increased approximately sevenfold. Naturally, Georgia plays a key role in all of this, as it is the only country that connects seven other nations to the Black Sea and, consequently, to the Western sphere”, he concluded.
