The Global Adaptation Initiative has published its 2026 report, ranking Georgia second in Europe and fourth globally in economic readiness to face global challenges.
The study, conducted at the University of Notre Dame, measures the vulnerability and resilience of countries to global challenges, along with their readiness to improve resilience.
The study aims to help governments, businesses and communities prioritise investments to respond more effectively to future global challenges.
The results of the report are regularly published by the European Commission. According to the European Commission, the research center works to improve the world's understanding of adaptation through knowledge, products and services that support public and private action, as well as investments in vulnerable communities.
Compared to the previous year's report, this year Georgia has moved from third to second place in terms of economic readiness to face global challenges, and still holds the same fourth position globally.
The updated 2026 ranking of the world's top four countries is as follows: South Korea, Singapore, Estonia, and Georgia.
The assessment of economic readiness for global challenges is based on the World Bank's thematic studies, Doing Business and Business Ready reports.
