Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday criticised the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), accusing it of becoming involved in what he described as a coordinated campaign against the Georgian people and their democratic choice.
Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze said the document adopted by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was entirely based on “falsehoods and slander”, arguing that there was no point in discussing its contents.
“There are cases when discussion is simply meaningless because certain decisions are driven by straightforward political orders. In this case, the OSCE has unfortunately become an executor of such an order”, Kobakhidze said.
He further added that the resolution approved by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was initiated by US Congressman Joe Wilson and reflects broader issues within the organisation itself.
“The entire document is built on absolute lies. It was Joe Wilson’s initiative that was approved at the Assembly session. This document allows us to draw conclusions about the current state of affairs within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Unfortunately, the OSCE has become involved in a coordinated process whose purpose is to attack the Georgian people and challenge the choice expressed by the Georgian people. This is certainly neither a correct nor a fair approach”, he concluded.
