Georgian businessman Irakli Rukhadze on Tuesday said that Badri Patarkatsishvili was absolutely convinced that the former Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania had been killed by Mikheil Saakashvili.
In his remarks, Rukhadze noted that Patarkatsishvili devoted considerable effort and resources to investigating Zhvania’s death but was ultimately unable to gather conclusive evidence.
“I often argued with him, actually. I don’t know what arguments he had, but he spent a great deal of money trying to investigate the case - on security, on various efforts. He kept pursuing the story after he became Saakashvili’s political opponent. Badri invested enormous energy and resources into this, but he couldn't see it through to the end and never obtained tangible evidence. Nevertheless, Badri was absolutely convinced of it”, Rukhadze concluded.
