Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday criticised the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly over a recent declaration concerning Georgia, saying the organisation has “fallen to the level of Congressman Joe Wilson”.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that such documents were weakening the trust of the Georgian public in the OSCE.
“It is a very tragic development. The text does not even deserve an assessment. Unfortunately, documents like this weaken the trust of Georgian society not only toward the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly but also toward the OSCE as a whole. We see that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has descended to Joe Wilson’s level. This is a very tragic development. We will draw the appropriate conclusions from this act”, he said.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on Wednesday adopted a critical resolution on Georgia drafted by US Congressman Joe Wilson.
