Maia Bitadze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Environment Protection and Natural Resources Committee, on Wednesday claimed the adoption of US Congressman Joe Wilson’s false and biased resolution against Georgia was a pre-written and staged scenario.
Bitadze responded to the adoption of the Hague Declaration by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which also included a resolution on Georgia, titled Protecting the Integrity of Elections and Fundamental Freedoms in Georgia.
In her social media message, Bitadze noted that this was an unfortunate result of the growing trend of weakening international organisations.
“323 parliament members from 57 OSCE member states, 239 of whom attended the 33rd session of the OSCE PA in The Hague. Joe Wilson's false and biased resolution on Georgia, passed by 39 votes, was a pre-written and staged scenario, and after the session, active communication with our delegation and regret! One would think that we forced them to stage this scenario. This is the unfortunate result of the growing trend of weakening international organizations”, Bitadze said.
