Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Wednesday said the radical opposition should be the last to comment on the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project, adding that it was for the best that they were not given the opportunity to implement it.
In his remarks, Kavelashvili noted that the state was now in a position to develop the Anaklia Deep Sea Port itself, while retaining ownership and management of the project.
“The most important thing is that the state now has the ability to develop the Anaklia Deep Sea Port on its own. Our country will retain the controlling stake, and at the same time, the transparency and approach we have toward various organizations, businesses and states allow us to apply this multivector approach to the Anaklia Deep Sea Port as well”, he said.
“I would not even call this group a political party. These people should be the last to appear and speak about Anaklia. It is very fortunate that they were not given the opportunity to implement the Anaklia Port project. We all saw very clearly what their objective was and how they misled the public”, Kavelashvili concluded.
