Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said that hatred and aggression have been artificially imposed on Georgia from outside the country and stressed the need to counter such influences.
Speaking to journalists on creating the Department for Combating Hate Speech, Kobakhidze noted that the main function of the Department was to prevent the artificial rise of hatred in the country.
“The activities of this Department are very important. From outside the country, we were artificially inflicted with hatred and aggression, and this requires confrontation. The main function of the Department is precisely to prevent the artificial rise of hatred in Georgia. This is not a characteristic phenomenon of Georgian culture. What is not characteristic of Georgian culture is also an absolutely negative phenomenon, and what we can prevent requires taking appropriate steps”, the PM said.
