Rati Ionatamishvili, the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration, on Wednesday sharply criticised recent EU resolutions, claiming they carry no legal or juridical force and are effectively “worthless” from the moment they are adopted.
Speaking about EU-related resolutions, Ionatamishvili argued that such documents not only lack binding power but also damage the credibility of European institutions themselves.
“It is very unfortunate that the collective ‘Juknevičienės’ have effectively dismantled European institutions and turned them into a waste-paper submission point. There can be no other assessment of this, because we all know very well that these resolutions have no value whatsoever - neither legal nor juridical”, he noted.
“They are effectively waste-paper from the day they are adopted. The fact that they continue repeating the same thing over and over again is highly damaging to these institutions themselves”, the Chair concluded.
