Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday praised the Special State Protection Service on its 32nd anniversary, calling it a modern, mobile, and high-tech institution, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to its continued strengthening and development.
During a ceremonial event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the Special State Protection Service, Kobakhidze congratulated the agency’s employees and highlighted their critical role in ensuring the strength, stability, and secure development of the Georgian state.
“In the modern history of Georgia, your agency holds a special place. Since its establishment, the Service has taken on a mission that directly determines the strength of our state, institutional stability, and the secure development of the country. Your profession is associated with constant risks and enormous responsibility, and it requires the highest level of discipline. You respond to this calling every day with the highest professionalism and dedication, for which I extend my sincere gratitude to each of you”, he said.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to employees of the service who died in the line of duty, emphasising the risks and responsibilities associated with their profession.
“On this responsible path, unfortunately, many of your comrades paid the most precious price - their own lives. I pay tribute to the bright memory of your heroic colleagues and friends who died in the line of duty. Their courage will remain an eternal example of dedication to the country”, he noted.
He further underlined that, according to the government’s assessment, the service has developed into a highly capable institution due to effective leadership, skilled personnel, and sustained state support.
“Today we can rightly take pride in the fact that, as a result of the correct vision of the agency’s leadership, the high qualifications of each officer, and the unwavering support of our government, the Special State Protection Service is a modern, mobile, and high-tech institution that fully meets the challenges of the present and is constantly developing”, the Prime Minister stressed.
Kobakhidze confirmed that continued government backing would be provided to further strengthen its capabilities.
“I want to assure you that the government of Georgia will continue to fully support the further strengthening and progress of the Special State Protection Service”, he concluded.
On the occasion, 32 employees were awarded medals for exemplary service.
