Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday criticised recent European Parliament resolutions, stating that they have “lost all value”, arguing that they no longer reflect a fair approach toward the Georgian public.
In his remarks over the matter, Kobakhidze noted that European Parliament resolutions were no longer of interest to Georgian society and did not influence public opinion in the country.
“I no longer even remember how many resolutions have been adopted. The Georgian people are not interested in these resolutions at all. One interesting detail is that this resolution contains a clearly discriminatory demand. They are saying that only agents should retain visa-free travel with the European Union. Of course, this is not a healthy approach towards the Georgian people”, he said.
The Prime Minister further argued that Georgian society deserves equal and fair treatment from European institutions, including both the European bureaucracy and the European Parliament.
“Georgian society deserves fair treatment from the European bureaucracy and the European Parliament, but we see that different approaches have been established today. It is unacceptable for visa-free travel to be preserved only for agents”, Kobakhidze concluded.
