Law enforcement agencies from Georgia and Spain have detained 13 individuals as part of an international special operation codenamed CACHABA, carried out in Spain, according to Georgia’s ministry of internal affairs.
The operation was conducted in close cooperation with the Georgian police attaché and followed one year of intensive coordination between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies.
Investigators established that members of the criminal group were involved in 27 residential burglaries committed across various regions of Spain.
Authorities say the network was divided into two separate branches: one consisting of individuals of Georgian origin who directly carried out the burglaries, and another Spanish branch responsible for selling the stolen goods in different cities.
The coordinated police operation was simultaneously carried out in Madrid, Valencia, Guadalajara, and Alicante, targeting nine different locations in total.
