Georgian Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Darakhvelidze on Tuesday announced that the Ministry’s Migration Department has deported 80 foreign nationals from the country in recent days as a result of intensified immigration enforcement measures.
In his remarks, Darakhvelidze also presented updated figures for the current year, noting that nearly 300 individuals have already been expelled from Georgia in January and February 2026.
He stressed that every operational unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs remained engaged in rigorous detection of illegal migration incidents.
“It should be noted that, according to January-February 2026 data, nearly 300 people have already been deported from the country. Each division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues intensive work to identify every case of illegal migration. Similar measures will also continue in the future in order to minimize the rate of illegal migration in the country”, he concluded.
