The Georgian Interior Ministry on Sunday arrested two individuals, including a Russian citizen, on drug-related charges following operational measures and investigative actions.
The detainees face allegations of illegally acquiring and possessing large and particularly large quantities of narcotic substances, facilitating illegal drug sales, and cultivating plants containing narcotic substances.
Searches conducted at the suspects’ residences and a warehouse used by one of the accused yielded various narcotic substances, including methadone, dried marijuana, a substance containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and cannabis plants.
Law enforcement also seized materials used for cultivating narcotic substances as evidence.
The crimes are punishable by up to 20 years of imprisonment.
