Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday commented on the participation of the Georgian delegation in the World Urban Summit in Baku, stressing that the prime minister’s participation in the conference would help both to present Georgia’s positions on key issues and to hold bilateral meetings with partner countries.
“Baku is hosting a high-level conference and meeting that will bring together world leaders and representatives of international organisations. Of course, this is an important platform to highlight issues that are significant for Georgia. The prime minister’s participation will once again give us the opportunity to hold bilateral meetings and to ensure that Georgia’s positions are voiced within the framework of this forum”, the FM said.
She also noted that, within the framework of the visit, a meeting will be held with the president of Azerbaijan, during which the parties will discuss the strategic partnership and bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
“There will also be a bilateral meeting with the president of Azerbaijan, where we will once again discuss the issues related to relations between our countries. As you know, our relations are at a high level, and we have a strategic partnership. Azerbaijan is an important partner, and, of course, communication on the priority issues between our countries is very important”, the minister concluded.
