Georgia’s consistent political and humanitarian support for Ukraine was discussed on Friday in a meeting between Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili and her Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha within the framework of the 135th session of the committee of ministers of the council of Europe held in Chisinau.
The officials also discussed further steps following the recent communications between representatives of the governments of Georgia and Ukraine.
The Georgian side underscored the existing challenges in Georgia-Ukraine relations, including steps taken by the Ukrainian authorities in recent years and positions that continue to hinder the normalisation of bilateral relations.
The parties reaffirmed the importance of restoring healthy diplomatic relations and expressed their readiness to continue dialogue.
