Georgian interior minister Geka Geladze on Monday held a high-level meeting with Mark Tervakoski, the director of the Europe and Asia office of the US State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
During the sit-down, Geladze briefed the US delegation on the ongoing and completed reforms within the ministry. The conversation focused heavily on measures taken to combat organised crime, specific actions implemented to tackle drug-related offences.
Both parties reviewed the “fruitful partnership” between the Georgian MIA and the INL.
Discussions also focused on upcoming joint projects and long-term strategic goals.
The meeting was part of a larger international forum organised by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with the administration of the president of Uzbekistan.
