Péter Magyar pledges continued cooperation with Georgia
Foreign policy

Péter Magyar
Péter Magyar, the incoming prime minister of Hungary, on Monday signaled a commitment to maintaining and strengthening the bilateral relationship between Hungary and Georgia.
In his remarks, Magyar addressed the future of Hungary’s foreign policy, specifically highlighting that the transition of power in Budapest would not signal a cooling of relations with traditional partners.
“The fact that Viktor Orbán's government had strong relations with the Balkan countries or other states does not mean that we will have less of a relationship with these countries. However, if Hungary had bad relations with someone, we will try to improve it”, he said.
“I would be happy to visit you in Tbilisi or elsewhere. I look forward to cooperating with you; however, we will not interfere in the internal affairs of any other country, nor in your elections or those of any other state. This is not our style, and it is not the business of any European government. Every government is elected to represent the voters of its own country”, Magyar concluded.
