Georgian president Mikheil Kavelashvili on Thursday emphasised that Georgia and Slovakia were sharing a common vision based on peace, stability, and protection of national interests.
In his remarks at a joint press briefing following a meeting with his Slovakian counterpart, Kavelashvili thanked president Peter Pellegrini for meaningful and interesting dialogue.
Kavelashvili emphasised the importance of cooperation between Georgia and Slovakia in the context of acute global challenges.
“Slovakia has always been, and remains, a firm supporter of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which I sincerely appreciate, as does all of Georgia. Our countries share a common vision based on peace, stability, and protection of national interests. In the face of acute global challenges and geopolitical risks, the cooperation and close partnership between the countries that share common values and approaches is of particular importance”, he said.
“To maintain the positive dynamics of cooperation between our countries, we see it as important to continue high-level meetings. This is exactly what we discussed in terms of specific plans and priorities for the near future. We also examined the broad potential for sectoral cooperation, which includes trade and economic relations, investment issues, tourism, defence and security, culture, education, youth issues, and other areas”, Kavelashvili concluded.
