The engagement of the United States in the South Caucasus region, as well as ongoing regional developments were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili and Peter Andreoli, a representative of the US Department of State’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
The discussion also addressed current issues of cooperation between Georgia and the United States.
Particular attention was devoted to the Middle Corridor and to Georgia’s role as a regional connector and transportation hub.
The meeting further underscored the United States’ firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its non-recognition policy.
Botchorishvili reaffirmed the Georgian side’s willingness and readiness to reset relations with the United States and to renew the strategic partnership.
