Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday said “Slovakia is a country that does not agree with the European Union’s unfair approaches toward Georgia and the use of the European integration process as an instrument”.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that plans were made to organise bilateral high-ranking meetings between the governments of Slovakia and Georgia.
“Slovakia is a country that does not agree with the European Union’s unfair approaches toward Georgia and the use of the European integration process as an instrument. That is why it is especially important for us to maintain political dialogue with our partners”, the Minister said.
She also announced that preparations are underway for the President of Georgia to visit Slovakia, as well as for the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament to travel to Bratislava. In addition, Georgia expects a high-level visit from Slovakia in the near future.
“These visits will once again contribute to deepening political dialogue and strengthening economic cooperation”, Botchorishvili emphasised.
During the visit, the Georgian Foreign Minister met with her Slovak counterpart. Following their meeting, the two sides held a joint briefing, where they also discussed opportunities to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
