Potential for deepening cooperation between Georgia and Serbia across various sectors was discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and his Serbian counterpart Đuro Macut on the sidelines of the 2026 World Governments Summit in Dubai.
“Our discussion focused on the positive momentum in Georgia-Serbia relations, reflected in regular high-level dialogue and growing sectoral cooperation, as well as opportunities to further advance cooperation across key areas of mutual interest”, Kobakhidze said in a social media message.

The officials positively assessed the opening of the Serbian Embassy in Georgia and the direct flight between the two countries, which would contribute to the strengthening of trade, economic and people-to-people ties, as well as encourage tourism and cultural relations.
The sides also highlighted the importance of the format of the Georgia-Serbia Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in deepening sectoral ties.
The meeting further underscored the importance of the decision to launch negotiations on a free trade agreement between the two countries for further stimulating economic cooperation.
