Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said that held a very friendly meeting with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan, emphasising the close and special relationship between the two countries.
In his interview with the Georgian Public Broadcaster, Kobakhidze noted that Azerbaijan was a distinguished friend of Georgia and that relations between the two governments were exceptionally friendly.
“For us, it is absolutely important to take into account the interests of the Azerbaijani side, as well as the interests of the Armenian side. We have our own interests, and I think that on the basis of negotiations we will easily find the best path that will satisfy the interests of all three countries”, the PM said.
Kobakhidze also addressed questions related to the expiration of the Southern Gas Corridor agreement, noting that negotiations were underway on all relevant issues.
He reiterated that Georgia maintains exceptionally friendly relations with Azerbaijan, which provides grounds for optimism, and expressed hope that an agreement beneficial to both sides will be reached.
