The international forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality provides an important opportunity for meetings with leaders of regional countries with whom Georgia maintains close bilateral relations, said on Thursday Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov had already taken place.
“We have a very important bilateral agenda with this country, and it is essential that the issues concerning the political and economic relations between our countries be discussed at the highest level. Azerbaijan is an important partner for Georgia, and these close relations also require high-level political dialogue on a daily basis”, she said.
“There will also be an opportunity for meetings with other leaders from Central Asian countries, which is likewise necessary and important for Georgia, especially for utilizing our country’s transit potential. Within the framework of these meetings, first of all, the trade and economic relations and issues that are actively on Georgia’s economic development agenda will be discussed”, the FM concluded.
