Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday said that the relations that had developed over the years between Georgia and the Vatican were precious to the Georgian Government.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that the Holy See played an important role on the international stage, especially in peace-building processes.
“The relationships that have developed over the years between Georgia and the Vatican are precious to us. Considering that the Catholic world now has a new Pope, his meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia is especially important, as well as discussing all the key issues that are relevant for Georgia in light of global and regional developments”, she noted.
“The Vatican plays an important role in promoting peace, particularly against the backdrop of the processes unfolding around the region”, Botchorishvili concluded.
