During a bilateral meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan on Thursday said that Armenia remained fully committed to strengthening and deepening relations with Georgia, stressing that no changes should be expected in Armenia’s approach.
In his remarks,Khachaturyan noted that Georgia and Armenia shared the common aspiration to ensure peace and stability in the region.
“I am grateful to the Georgian government for the warm reception. I arrived yesterday, and I already feel as if I have been here for a long time. This is thanks to the attention shown to us and the environment created here. I am certain this also stems from the personal relationship and trust-based partnership between you and our [Armenian] Prime Minister. High-level meetings strengthen our relations and create new opportunities”, he said.
“We are doing everything to support the consolidation and deepening of our bilateral ties. Rest assured, there will be no changes in Armenia’s position or attitude. Our shared desire is to ensure peace and stability in the region and internal political resilience. I believe that people in both Georgia and Armenia will appreciate the efforts of our Governments aimed at strengthening the sovereignty and independence of our countries”, Khachaturyan concluded.
